Hyderabad, August 13, 2026: Marking India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations with a message of service and community welfare, the Telangana State Unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha organised a Free Medical, Dental and Eye Screening Camp at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tirumalagiri, on Thursday.
The camp, held from 10 AM to 2 PM, provided medical, dental and eye screening along with free medicines to students, teachers and staff of the school. Approximately 400 students were screened, treated and provided medicines during the four-hour initiative.
The event brought together veterans, medical professionals, educators and volunteers in a coordinated effort aimed at promoting healthcare awareness and accessibility among school students.
The programme was graced by Major General N Srinivas Rao (Retd.), State President and National Vice President, Dakshin Bharat, Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha; Smt. Anuradha Rao, President, Mahila Wing, Dakshin Bharat; Gaurav Senani Gopu Ramana Reddy, Organising General Secretary, Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha Telangana, Managing Director of PM Janaushadhi Kendras and President of OPEN NGO; and Sri K Chandra Sekhar, Principal, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tirumalagiri.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the Principal of Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS), Secunderabad, for extending support through a dental diagnostic van, doctors and interns. MediCover Hospitals, Secunderabad, provided doctors and nursing staff, while Max Vision Eye Care supported the eye screening component of the camp.
The school administration, led by Principal Sri K Chandra Sekhar, also played a key role in facilitating the programme.
Established in 1963, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tirumalagiri, has approximately 2,700 students and around 90 teachers and staff. The health camp reached a substantial section of the school community and highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare and early screening among young people.
The initiative reflects Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha Telangana’s continuing emphasis on service, patriotism and community welfare. Organisers said such initiatives provide an opportunity to translate the spirit of national service into meaningful action at the community level.
The programme concluded with a strong message of service to the nation and the spirit of Independence Day.
