Tokyo, April 17, 2025: In a landmark development on the first day of Telangana Chief Minister Shri A Revanth Reddy’s official visit to Japan, global industrial giant Marubeni Corporation has proposed the establishment of a next-generation industrial park in Telangana’s upcoming ‘Future City’. This significant announcement came after a high-level meeting in Tokyo between the Telangana delegation and Marubeni’s senior leadership.

The meeting marks a major step forward in deepening the Telangana-Japan economic partnership, with Marubeni conveying its formal interest by signing a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Government of Telangana. The initial investment proposed stands at ₹1,000 crore, with the potential to attract over ₹5,000 crore in subsequent phases.

Strategic Vision for Future City

The industrial park will be spread across 600 acres and will be developed in phases. It is specifically intended to host Japanese and multinational manufacturing companies, positioning Hyderabad as a top-tier destination for global advanced manufacturing.

The park will focus on key high-growth sectors including:

  • Electronics Manufacturing
  • Green Pharmaceuticals
  • Precision Engineering
  • Aerospace and Defence

These sectors are aligned with the Telangana government’s mission to boost high-tech manufacturing, promote innovation, and create a robust skilled workforce ecosystem.

CM Revanth Reddy’s Investment Pitch to Japan

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said:

“The Marubeni Industrial Park will be among the first of its kind in the proposed Future City, India’s first city being developed as a Net Zero city. This initiative is expected to generate over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, transforming the industrial landscape and skill ecosystem of Telangana.”

He added that the Telangana government is committed to ensuring a world-class experience for Marubeni and other Japanese investors.

“We are proud to welcome Marubeni as a marquee investor in Future City. Telangana is not just a business destination, it is a second home for Japanese companies. I urge you to consider Telangana as your preferred ‘China +1’ alternative in Asia.”
