Hyderabad, July 31: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has achieved a landmark feat in its 2024–25 placement season, recording its best-ever performance in terms of student placements, package value, and recruiter diversity. The university successfully placed 550 students across 180 leading national and international organizations, reflecting its continued academic excellence and industry alignment.

The highest annual package offered soared to ₹46 lakh, setting a new record for the institution. This premium offer was bagged by an MTech student from the School of Computer and Information Sciences, a significant leap from last year’s top package of ₹17.89 lakh. The figure underscores the growing demand for UoH graduates, particularly in the tech and analytics domains.

Top Recruiters Across Diverse Sectors

This year’s placement drive attracted a robust mix of companies from IT, finance, pharma, consulting, manufacturing, and banking sectors. Prominent names on the recruiter list include:

  • TCS, Deloitte, Oracle, Teradata, Intel, Lloyds, ServiceNow, Micron, Pegasystems
  • Exim Bank, Accenture, Novartis, General Electric, ICICI Bank, and Federal Bank

These recruiters offered positions in roles such as data scientists, software developers, research analysts, financial consultants, and business development professionals, among others.

Virtual Hiring a Major Enabler

According to Prof. Chetan Srivastava, Chairman of the Placement Guidance Advisory Bureau (PGAB), the university’s stellar performance came despite a tough and uncertain job market.

“The global hiring environment has been volatile, but our students have risen to the challenge, showcasing their skills, adaptability, and strong academic grounding. The impressive placements are a testament to their hard work and our faculty’s dedicated mentoring,” he said.

Ms. Prerna Akhouri, Training and Placement Coordinator, emphasized the seamless transition to virtual recruitment platforms.

“Recruiters quickly adapted to conducting online assessments and interviews via tools like Zoom and Google Meet. While some in-person drives were delayed due to logistical issues, we kept the process uninterrupted and outcome-driven. We are also running intensive upskilling programmes and plan to organize open placement drives over the next two months to reach more students who are yet to be placed,” she added.

Institutional Momentum and Student Success

The University of Hyderabad, a Central University and Institution of Eminence (IoE), has consistently ranked among the top Indian universities in research, innovation, and postgraduate education. This placement success adds to its growing reputation as a destination of choice for recruiters looking for high-quality, well-rounded talent.

With an ecosystem that fosters interdisciplinary learning, tech-enabled education, and industry partnerships, UoH continues to bridge the gap between academia and employment, preparing students for high-impact careers in an evolving global job market.
