Bengaluru, August 9, 2026: A delegation of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha (Regd), an organisation of ex-servicemen and patriotic citizens, met Karnataka Governor Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot at Lok Bhavan, Bengaluru, on Sunday to brief him on the organisation’s ongoing initiatives in public awareness, health and social welfare.
The delegation comprised Maj Gen N. Srinivas Rao, Vice President, South India; Col T S Gururaj (Retd.), State President, Karnataka; and Mrs Anuradha Rao, President, Mahila Wing, Dakshin Bharat Zone.
During the meeting, the delegation presented details of two major public-awareness initiatives being undertaken by the Sanstha. These included “September-10,” an awareness film focused on suicide prevention, conceptualised and produced by Group Captain Jagadishwar Rao (Retd.), Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Telangana, and “HumdeshPremi,” a web series promoting awareness about blood and organ donation.
A coffee table book of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha was also presented to the Governor.
According to the Sanstha, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot extended a warm and supportive welcome to the delegation and appreciated its commitment to serving society. His encouragement and support have also opened avenues for institutional collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka Branch, particularly in the areas of health, welfare and public-awareness initiatives.
As a follow-up to the meeting, the Sanstha proposes to engage with the Karnataka Red Cross to develop a structured programme of collaborative activities across the state. The initiative is expected to be coordinated in consultation with Col T S Gururaj (Retd.), State President, Karnataka, with the aim of translating the discussions into meaningful and sustained community-oriented programmes.
The Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha said it remains committed to leveraging the experience, discipline and spirit of service of the veteran community for the larger welfare of society.
