Davos | World Economic Forum 2026: In a major boost to Telangana’s global urban-development ambitions, the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has agreed to explore strategic collaboration with the Government of Telangana for the development of Bharat Future City, envisioned as one of the world’s most advanced and sustainable cities.

The understanding emerged during a high-level meeting between Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, and A. Revanth Reddy, who led the Telangana Rising delegation at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos.

Bharat Future City: A Global Net-Zero Urban Model

During the interaction, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, outlining a bold roadmap to transform Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Central to this vision is Bharat Future City, India’s first Net-Zero Greenfield Smart City, spread across 30,000 acres.

The city is planned as a multi-sectoral, future-ready urban-industrial ecosystem with dedicated zones for:

  • Artificial Intelligence and deep-tech innovation
  • Education and skill development
  • Healthcare and life sciences
  • Green industries and clean energy
  • Integrated residential, commercial and entertainment hubs

Designed with sustainability at its core, Bharat Future City aims to set global benchmarks in climate-resilient infrastructure, smart mobility, digital governance and green urban living.

Global Companies Already Onboard

The Chief Minister highlighted that global majors such as Marubeni and Semcorp have already partnered with the project, reflecting strong international confidence in Telangana’s growth story.

He also informed the UAE Minister that the state has recently signed an MoU with **Reliance Group’s Vantara initiative to establish a world-class zoo within Bharat Future City, further enhancing its global appeal as a sustainable urban destination.

UAE Proposes Joint Task Force

Impressed by the scale and ambition of the project, Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri expressed the UAE government’s keen interest in partnering with Telangana. He proposed the creation of a joint task force comprising senior officials from both governments to ensure time-bound and efficient implementation of identified collaboration areas.

Recognized as a key architect of the UAE’s economic diversification and modernization drive, Touq Al Marri emphasized that the proposed partnership aligns with the UAE’s global investment and innovation strategy.

Focus on Food Security and Rural Economy

Beyond urban infrastructure, the UAE Minister also sought a strong strategic partnership between the UAE food cluster and Telangana, with a focus on agriculture, food processing and rural economic development. Such collaboration, he noted, could benefit farmers, strengthen supply chains and enhance food security for both regions.

High-Level Telangana Representation

The meeting was attended by D. Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and senior officials, underscoring the Telangana government’s commitment to translating global engagements into concrete investments and partnerships.

A New Chapter in Telangana’s Global Outreach

The proposed UAE–Telangana collaboration marks a significant milestone for the Telangana Rising initiative, reinforcing the state’s positioning as a preferred destination for future cities, sustainable infrastructure and global partnerships. If realized, Bharat Future City could emerge as a flagship symbol of India’s next-generation urban transformation on the world stage.
