Khammam: Telangana Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday underscored the importance of foreign language proficiency for students to succeed in an increasingly globalised job market, particularly in the healthcare sector. He announced that the Telangana Government will establish dedicated facilities to impart training in Japanese, Korean and German languages for nursing students aspiring to work abroad.

Interacting with students at a Nursing College in Khammam, the Chief Minister said there is a huge and growing demand for skilled Indian nurses in countries such as Japan, South Korea and Germany, driven by ageing populations and expanding healthcare systems. He noted that language skills are a crucial requirement for securing employment in these nations and adapting to their healthcare environments.

Recalling his recent foreign visit, CM Revanth Reddy said he was pleased to hear high praise for the professionalism, compassion and dedication of Indian nurses, particularly those from Telangana. “Wherever I went, the services of our nurses were appreciated. They are ambassadors of our State,” he remarked.

To help nursing students access better global employment opportunities, the Chief Minister announced that the State Government will provide structured language training facilities in Japanese, German and Korean. These facilities will cater to nursing students across Telangana, including those studying at Yedulapuram Nursing Colleges in Khammam district. The initiative aims to equip students with internationally relevant skills and improve their chances of placement in foreign healthcare institutions.

Emphasising that healthcare and education are among the top priorities of the Telangana Government, the Chief Minister said doctors and nurses play a vital role in society and are often regarded as next to God for their service to humanity. He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening medical education, improving infrastructure, and creating employment-oriented skill development programmes.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that nurses trained in foreign languages would not only secure high-paying jobs abroad but also enhance the global reputation of Telangana. “Our nurses should go global with confidence, dignity and skill. The government will stand firmly with them in their journey,” he said.

The proposed language training initiative is expected to be implemented in coordination with relevant departments and skill development agencies, aligning Telangana’s nursing education with international standards. The move is being seen as a major step towards empowering nursing students, increasing overseas employment opportunities, and positioning Telangana as a hub for globally competent healthcare professionals.
