Hyderabad, March 12: Global streaming giant Netflix has strengthened its investment in India with the launch of Eyeline Studios, its cutting-edge visual effects (VFX) and virtual production hub, in Hyderabad. The new facility is the fifth global location of Eyeline Studios, reinforcing Telangana’s growing prominence as a global destination for digital entertainment and creative technology.
The facility was inaugurated by A. Revanth Reddy in the presence of D. Sridhar Babu, senior officials from the Government of India and Telangana, and prominent members of the film and entertainment industry.
The launch event witnessed participation from actor and producer Rana Daggubati, along with Jeff Shapiro, senior Netflix executives, Sanjay Jaju, and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister B. Ajith Reddy.
Hyderabad Emerges as Global Entertainment Technology Hub
Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted the evolution of filmmaking technology over the decades and emphasized the importance of innovation in the future of storytelling. He expressed confidence that the new Netflix facility would not only support global productions but also empower local filmmakers.
“I have been fascinated by movies since childhood,” the Chief Minister said, recalling how cinema has evolved from traditional filmmaking techniques to modern technologies such as computer-generated imagery and virtual production.
He noted that several Telugu films have recently gained global recognition, reflecting the rising influence of India’s regional cinema on the international stage. According to him, the establishment of Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad will further accelerate that momentum by providing world-class visual effects capabilities to creators in the region.
“The launch of Netflix’s Eyeline Studios is proof of India’s and Telangana’s growing role in shaping the future of global entertainment,” he said.

Boost to AVGC Sector and Employment
The new studio is expected to significantly strengthen Hyderabad’s rapidly expanding Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector. Telangana has been actively promoting the AVGC ecosystem through policy initiatives, infrastructure development, and skill-building programs aimed at nurturing creative talent.
Officials said the Eyeline Studios facility will contribute to advanced training initiatives, enabling young professionals and artists to gain expertise in cutting-edge visual effects technologies used in international film and streaming productions.
Industry observers believe the presence of a global VFX powerhouse like Eyeline Studios could generate high-quality employment opportunities for local artists, engineers, designers, and technicians while also attracting international collaborations to the city.
Telangana’s Vision: Entertainment Zone and AI City
During his address, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to building a strong digital and creative economy. He spoke about ambitious plans to develop a dedicated Entertainment Zone and AI City within the upcoming Bharat Future City, envisioned as a major hub for technology companies, global studios, and research institutions.
Revanth Reddy invited Netflix to consider setting up its corporate office in Bharat Future City and assured full government support for further expansion.
“We invite Netflix to set up its corporate office in Bharat Future City. We are ready to extend all possible support. Hyderabad is a natural home for Netflix,” he said.
According to the Chief Minister, Bharat Future City aims to attract major global corporations and is expected to host numerous Fortune 500 companies, creating a vibrant innovation ecosystem that integrates technology, entertainment, and artificial intelligence.

Hyderabad Connecting Global Talent
The Chief Minister also highlighted Hyderabad’s ability to connect global talent with opportunities. He said that while Netflix gathers creative talent and stories from around the world, Hyderabad serves as a bridge linking skilled professionals with international platforms.
“I am sure that with the coming of Netflix Eyeline facility here, we will see more content showcasing Telangana to global audiences,” he added.
He further described the opening of the facility as a symbolic milestone that reflects Hyderabad’s growing importance in the global entertainment industry.
“The launch of Netflix’s Eyeline Studios marks the arrival of Hollywood in Hyderabad,” he remarked.
Focus on Sports and Infrastructure
In addition to promoting the entertainment sector, the Telangana government is also investing heavily in sports infrastructure. The Chief Minister mentioned ongoing plans to develop world-class sports facilities and establish a sports university to nurture future athletes.
The initiative, he said, is part of the state’s broader vision to position Telangana as a leading destination for innovation, culture, and global collaboration across multiple sectors.
With the launch of Eyeline Studios, Hyderabad strengthens its reputation as one of India’s most dynamic creative and technology hubs — a city increasingly shaping the future of global entertainment.
