Hyderabad, May 28:Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy addressed a gathering of students, teachers, and officials at the Gurukula Award Ceremony held today at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan in Hyderabad. The event celebrated the academic achievements of students from Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS), particularly those who have gained admission into prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs.

A Tribute to Telangana’s Greats

In his keynote address, CM Revanth Reddy paid rich tributes to stalwarts like Suravaram Pratap Reddy, after whom the Telugu University has now been renamed, recognizing his contributions to Telangana society. The CM also announced that the Women’s University has been named after revolutionary woman leader Veeranari Chakali Ilamma, underscoring the government’s commitment to honoring social reformers who dedicated their lives to the upliftment of marginalized communities.

Continuing the Legacy of Nehru and Ambedkar

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the current Congress-led government is continuing the inclusive legacy of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He stressed that education is the true instrument of social mobility and not one’s caste or background. “Those who serve people selflessly and prioritize education will always be remembered in history,” the CM remarked.

Empowering Marginalized Communities Through Education

CM Revanth Reddy made a clarion call to Dalits, Adivasis, and other weaker sections of society to shed their sense of inferiority. He emphasized that education is the key to empowerment, and announced the setting up of Young India Integrated Residential Schools to help underprivileged youth compete at a global level.

Critique of Past Governance

In a scathing critique of the previous BRS-led administration, the Chief Minister accused them of neglecting education while promoting schemes like goat, sheep, and fish distribution. “Why didn’t the BRS government invest in human capital? Why were no efforts made to bring the underprivileged into mainstream governance?” he questioned.

He also highlighted that the Congress-led People’s Government has already filled 59,000 government jobs in just one year, a record achievement compared to the previous regime’s 10-year tenure with negligible employment generation.

Job Recruitment and Political Obstruction

CM Revanth Reddy accused the opposition of deliberately obstructing recruitment by filing legal cases, especially in the wake of the Group 1 exam results. “The last government didn’t even conduct Group 1 exams. Now they are politicizing the issue, turning it into a societal problem,” he said.

He urged the youth to remain alert and hold BRS leaders accountable when they visit their areas. “Don’t be misled. Ask them about their failures,” he advised.

Message to Students: Focus Till 25

In an emotional appeal to students, the CM encouraged them to study diligently until the age of 25, assuring them that hard work and education will lead to a dignified life. “Don’t get distracted. Make your parents and your state proud,” he said.

Historic Milestones in Education and Representation

Revanth Reddy proudly shared that for the first time in Osmania University’s 100-year history, a Dalit has been appointed as Vice Chancellor. The government has also appointed Aakunuri Murali as Chairman of the Education Commission and Gaddam Prasad Kumar as Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly. “These appointments are based on educational merit, not caste,” the CM emphasized.

He concluded by stating, “The future of India lies in our classrooms. We are investing in your potential. Excel in all fields—we are with you.”
