On this occasion, a massive sum of ₹20,500 crore was directly credited to the bank accounts of 9.7 crore eligible farmer families under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Each farmer received an installment of ₹2,000, reinforcing the government’s commitment to timely financial support for India’s farming community.

Live Telecast at ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad

To mark the occasion, a live telecast of the event was organized at the ICAR – Directorate of Poultry Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, where numerous stakeholders, scientists, and farmers gathered to witness the Prime Minister’s address.

Attendees listened attentively as PM Modi highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to transform agriculture, ensure income stability for farmers, and foster rural development through targeted welfare schemes.

Many stakeholders at the event appreciated the transparency and efficiency of the PM-KISAN scheme, particularly the use of DBT to eliminate middlemen and ensure that benefits reach directly to those intended.

Continued Commitment to Farmer Welfare

In his address, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s resolve to stand by the farmers of India. He emphasized that initiatives like PM-KISAN are not just about financial assistance but are part of a broader strategy to strengthen rural livelihoods, boost agricultural productivity, and ensure food security for the nation.

Since its inception, the PM-KISAN scheme has played a pivotal role in offering timely support to small and marginal farmers, with cumulative disbursements now crossing several lakh crores, benefitting crores of farming households.
