In his speech, the Chief Minister described the police force as a symbol of trust and assurance for society, emphasizing that police personnel often risk their lives in the line of duty without hesitation. “Many brave officers have sacrificed their lives so that citizens can live in peace. Remembering and honoring their supreme sacrifice is our collective duty,” he said.
Remembering the Martyrs
Revanth Reddy recalled that October 21 holds immense significance as the day to commemorate the ultimate sacrifices made by police personnel across the nation. He paid homage to all officers who laid down their lives for the country, noting that 191 police personnel across India and six from Telangana have lost their lives in the line of duty this year.
He mentioned the sacrifices of Greyhounds Commandos T. Sandeep, V. Sridhar, and N. Pawan Kalyan, who died fighting anti-national forces, and other police personnel including Assistant Commandant Banoth Jawaharlal, Nalgonda Constable B. Saidulu, and CCS Constable Empalli Pramod Kumar from Nizamabad, who recently attained martyrdom during duty.
The Chief Minister assured that the government stands firmly with the families of the martyrs. He announced an ex-gratia of ₹1 crore for Constable Pramod Kumar’s family, along with continuation of last drawn salary till retirement, a government job for one family member, a 300-square-yard house plot, and additional financial aid of ₹24 lakh from the Police Welfare and Safety Funds.

Telangana Police — A Model for the Nation
Highlighting the achievements of the Telangana Police, the Chief Minister expressed pride that the India Justice Report 2025 ranked Telangana Police as the number one police force in India. He also mentioned that the state’s police department received special appreciation from the Ministry of External Affairs for its efficient passport verification process.
“The Telangana Police has set a national benchmark in adopting modern technology for law enforcement and public safety. This is a testament to their relentless commitment and professional excellence,” he remarked.
War Against Drugs and Cybercrime
Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his government’s determination to make Telangana a drug-free state. He highlighted the formation of the EAGLE (Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement) wing to combat drug trafficking. “We have given the police full freedom and authority to crush the drug menace. No one involved, however influential, will be spared,” he asserted.
Acknowledging the evolving nature of crime, the Chief Minister noted that cybercrime, digital fraud, and human trafficking pose new challenges. He commended the Telangana Police for effectively countering such threats through technology, especially under the leadership of the Cyber Security Bureau, which he described as one of the best-performing units in the country.

Women Leadership in Policing
Revanth Reddy also lauded the contribution of women IPS officers, noting that Telangana has emerged as a model state in promoting gender representation in key law enforcement roles. “Women officers are now leading crucial departments such as the Police Academy, CID, ACB, Vigilance, Cyber Security Bureau, and Armed Reserve. This is a matter of immense pride for our government,” he said.
Welfare and Support Initiatives
The Chief Minister reiterated that policing is one of the toughest professions, involving constant risk and sacrifice. He detailed various welfare initiatives taken by the state government, including the recruitment of over 16,000 constables and sub-inspectors, free education and healthcare for martyrs’ families, and residential school seats for their children.
He announced enhanced compensation packages — ₹1 crore for constables to ASIs, ₹1.25 crore for SIs and CIs, ₹1.5 crore for DSPs and Additional SPs, and ₹2 crore for SPs and IPS officers who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty.
Revanth Reddy also spoke about the newly established Young India Police School at Manchirevula in Ranga Reddy district, offering world-class education to police personnel’s children, with 50% of seats reserved for police families.

Commitment to Peace and Progress
“Peace and security are the foundations of development,” the Chief Minister stated. “Telangana’s rapid progress is possible because of the tireless efforts of our police force. Their courage and discipline have made the state a model of safety and stability.”
He also emphasized the importance of “Friendly Policing”, clarifying that it applies to law-abiding citizens and not to law violators. He urged police officers to remain sensitive while handling public protests and maintain law and order without inconveniencing common citizens.
Final Tribute
Concluding his address, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy saluted all the police martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. “Their sacrifices are priceless. On this Police Flag Day, I extend my deepest homage to their memory. The Telangana government will continue to stand by their families in every possible way,” he affirmed.
