Hyderabad, December 9, 2025 — The 40th Annual Conference and National Symposium of the Indian Poultry Science Association (IPSA) commenced today at the University Auditorium of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The three-day conference, being held from December 9–11, 2025, centers around the theme “Flock to the Future: Embracing Technology, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability in Poultry Production for Protein Security in Viksit Bharat.”

The event is jointly organized by the ICAR–Directorate of Poultry Research (ICAR-DPR), Hyderabad and the Indian Poultry Science Association (IPSA). More than 400 delegates, including scientists, academicians, industry professionals, policymakers, and students from across the country, are participating.

Dignitaries Highlight National Importance of Poultry

Dr. K. C. Veeranna, Vice Chancellor, KVAFSU, Bidar, Karnataka, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, underlined the crucial role of the poultry sector in ensuring nutritional security and strengthening the rural economy. He emphasized that modern poultry science and integrated value-chain development are pivotal for India’s protein sufficiency goals under Viksit Bharat 2047.

Dr. K. Ilambarthi, IAS, Secretary, AHDDF, Government of Telangana, attended as Guest of Honour. He highlighted Telangana’s robust poultry ecosystem and reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting poultry farmers, encouraging scientific innovation, and enhancing sectoral competitiveness.

Dr. P. K. Shukla, President, IPSA, spoke about ongoing IPSA initiatives to strengthen poultry science research and development in India.
Dr. R. N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR, emphasized the significance of research institutions in driving growth, resilience and sustainability in the poultry sector.

IPSA Honors Industry Stalwarts

During the inaugural ceremony, IPSA presented its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards to:

  • Dr. V. Ayyagari, Former Director, ICAR-DPR
  • Dr. V. K. Saxena, Former ADG, ICAR

The awards acknowledged their remarkable contributions to the development and scientific advancement of the Indian poultry industry.

IPSA also conferred IPSA Fellow Recognitions upon:

Over the next three days, the conference will conduct deliberations and technical sessions on diverse poultry science domains including:
